The process setup consists of heating tank fitted with SSR controlled heater for on-line heating of the water. The flow of water can be manipulated and measured by rotameter. Temperature sensor resistance temperature detector is used for temperature sensing. The process parameter Temperature is controlled by microprocessor based digital indicating controller which manipulates heat input to the process. Control Valve Characteristics

The setup is designed to understand the control valve operation and its flow characteristics. It consists of pneumatic control valves of linear, equal% (& quick opening for product 318B) type, stainless steel water tank with pump for continuous water circulation and rotameter for flow measurement.

An arrangement is made to measure pressure at the valve inlet in terms of mm of water. An air regulator and pressure gauge is provided for the control valve actuation. In case of additional optional requirement a valve positioner is fitted on linear valve. The set up is stand-alone type.

It consists of flapper - nozzle mechanism, Dial gauge indicator, pressure gauges and air filter regulator. The nozzle is open at the end where the gap exists between the nozzle and flapper, and air escapes in this region.As the flapper moves down and reduces the nozzle gap the signal pressure increases. The graph of signal pressure verses nozzle gap can be plotted and system gain can be calculated.
