        Description of Trainer Refrigeration Control

        The handling of a case controller as used in commercial cooling units can be trained with the benchtop unit. The case controller with programming unit, expansion valve and pressure transmitter are real components. Other components of a refrigeration system as evaporator or compressor are simulated in the supplied software. The case controller monitors continuously the functioning of the components and triggers an alarm when faults occur. The software simulates the behaviour of a freezer at different operating states. The temperature and pressure distributions and the switching modes of expansion valve and compressor are displayed in the screen “measured values as a function of time& rdquo;. Ambient temperature and the refrigerant can be chosen in the system diagram, coloured buttons indicate the operating state of the components. All components, signal lamps, switches and a system diagram are clearly arranged on the front panel.
